Short takes on great Maine attractions for the family:

Seacoast Park in Trenton - mini golf, climbing wall, water slides, go carts--all the stuff to make for a great day for young and old!

Coos Canyon in Byron is a GREAT way to spend the day-take the family and a picnic! Rent equipment to pan for gold on the Swift River.  www.cooscanyonrockandgift.com
Don't forget your camera!

Find yourself in Greenville during the foliage season and take a tour on The Kate, a steamship that used to haul logs down the length of Moosehead Lake and has now been refurbished into a tour boat. Bring a warm coat, your camera and water.

Visit Lowe's Covered Bridge, which crosses the Piscataquis River between Dover-Foxcroft and Guilford. This is a replacement bridge for the one that washed away in an ice storm several years ago. Kids have a ball playing on the rocks when the river's water level is low, and you can drive your car across the bridge--and bring your fishing pole!

Treworgy's - A very special place in Levant will keep your kids of all ages busy all day. They can pick apples, pumpkins, go on hay rides and get lost in a corn maze. There's an ice cream stand there, and animals that love to be petted.  In other seasons they also have pick your raspberries (yum!).
The Antiques Marketplace in downtown Bangor is a great place to grab a bite and see great antiques at good prices.

Bangor's Children's Museum-directly across from the Antique's Marketplace-fun for all ages, but closed on Mondays. Photo by Linda Batey.

Seacoast Botanical Gardens in Boothbay is AMAZING!!! No matter what season you go, you will see the Gardens in a different light! And don't forget to check out the Fairy houses!
